I was reading something on-line last night about using a Walkman and Audacity to take tapes and convert them to mp3s. So I dug out the only Camp Standing Rock “album” that has yet to be digitized (I think) and uploaded most of the tracks. I actually found two tapes – one was labeled A State of Virginia: Master Tape, and the other one said April 2003 but it included a lot of the same songs plus some more (and several versions of each.) Here I have taken six tracks from the Master Tape and made them available as downloads in the “Download A State of Virginia For Free” tab. If I have the time and drive to go trough the other tape and pick out some tracks worth posting I may make those available here too at some point. At any rate, hope you enjoy these tunes from way back in the days of ’03.

Nice! I was just listening to this the other day, since I had pulled out a bunch of tapes to play in the new car. I was thinking about digitzing it, but unfortunately my laptop doesn’t have an Audio Input jack. Lame! Eventually I would have done it on Kelsi’s computer, but that would require bringing a tape player over there.
Anyway, there is one more of yours that hasn’t been digiitized yet – the “Five Songs From the Disconnect” tape. At least I think it hasn’t. I think you sent me that one after I had done the box set.
The transfer sounds really good. Thanks for posting it!
nice to hear this stuff again. now let’s hear that “five songs from the disconnect”. not sure i ever heard that one before?
